Cross Cultural Meeting (Workshop)
Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen e.V. (ifa), Stuttgart
16. - 17.11.2009
On 16 October 2009 a number of the 2009 CrossCulture interns were invited to take part in a cultural meeting in Stuttgart from different Islamic countries including some interns from Germany, who have partly ended their internships in a number of Islamic countries. The meeting has given me the opportunity to get to know about German-culture to some extent during a two day meeting run by Dr Zeina Matar in Stuttgart. I have found the meeting so fruitful and learning in terms of cultural aspects. In addition to that, it was so nice to have known about culture-differences among the Islamic world and Germany. Dr Matar, a really expert trainer, has run the session in a manner that as a participant I not only learned, but also had lots of fun. To be honest, before attending the meeting, I was of different opinion about Germans’ behaviour towards Muslim community, but everything has turned the way around. Certainly, my knowledge on how to treat Germans and expect the same has been enriched to sort of higher level.
